Apart from a minor glitch, which you helped me correct, I have installed the program, sold an item live, and everthing worked as advertised.

Hi… I'm a total non-techie as you'll discover from the following and in need of a little point in the right direction.

After 4 installation attempts of the SmartDD software, I believe I've finally got everything up to the server ok. My problem now is that I don't know how to access my SmartDD cPanel so that I can add inventory, items, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm overlooking something obvious but please bear with me. What must I do?

Hi LDR - you should be looking for something like:-

www.YOUR_DOMAIN_NAME_HERE.com/smartdd/admin/

and there you'll be able to enter your admin userid and password which default to admin and changeme.

The final part of the installation should have taken you there after setting up the database. Maybe it did and you didn't bookmark it?

Can you help a Newbie.. Was able to set everything up, uploaded my zip. files listed them in inventory and all. My problem! how do I make it work with eBay??? From what I see this is for a Web site listing? Am I missing something?

Hi Ben,

SmartDD uses 100% magic to make it work with eBay. Only kidding…

It's the default IPN string in PayPal that allows SmartDD to handle eBay sales. What you do is copy and paste the correct string from SmartDD into the PayPal IPN field.

Then, when your customer pays for their eBay purchase by PayPal, the entire transaction data for that purchase including title, cost, name, address, email address etc. are all sent to SmartDD.

SmartDD then processes that transaction data, creates an order, sends an email to your customer etc.

I suppose it *is* a kind of magic really.

Thank you for the info. Your quick response to the my problem helped me in deciding to purchase Smartdd.
New problem- I have purchased the full version of Smartdd, but when it came to Data Configuration it comes back,
"The encoded file /home/mysite/public_html/smartdd/install/step2.php requires a license file.
The license file /home/mysite/public_html/smartdd/smartdd.lic is corrupt"
I downloaded the lic. a few times all with the same problem, Thanks for your assistance .

Hi Ben,

We've found that generating a licence based on IP address of your web server instead of the domain works about 99% of the time.

I just want to Thank You for your patience and support.
I was still having problem after all your help, so I started from scratch and signed up with Hostgater. You are 100 % correct, the cPanel is easy to work with. I followed all video instructions, and just sold my first ebook.
It is "Like Magic", great product, great support and you Tops!
