OK, I don't know what's going on yet, I've tried to contact and get help a couple of times now concerning my SmartDD and have got no answers yet. I mean, thank you for uploading it for me and such, but in order for me to be able to use it, it's got to let me sign in first, and it's not! And if I use the lost my password feature, it will send me a new password, but that password will not work ether! Now this sucks! I can't get in to the control panel or anything else. When I try to, this is what I keep receiving:Warning: Unknown(/home/artman/public_html/smartdd/user/forgottenpassword.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0
Warning: Unknown(/home/artman/public_html/smartdd/user/forgottenpassword.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0
Warning: (null)() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/artman/public_html/smartdd/user/forgottenpassword.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0
So what now? Will you PLEASE give me a hand with this problem?

Diana Frame :
I have added all my items to my inventory list and it shows them all however when I click on items the item list does not show all the items. Is there a limit to how many items I can add?
October 9, 2007
Frank Haywood :
Hi Diana,
SmartDD works on the principle of an inventory of products, and saleable items. You first need to set up your inventory product, and then link it to a saleable item that you create.
The reason we've done it like that is because in the next version, you'll be able to add multiple products to a single saleable item.
There's no limit to the number of saleable items you can create in the full version, which you have. The only limit in the free version is the number of inventory products you can create.
Cheers,
Frank.

Hi Frank,
Enjoying the product, now that I understand most of it.
I believe the help section said no, but, is there any way other than the PayPal sandbox to test the 'back-end' of the links.
The links are working fine in getting the buyer to PayPal, but I don't have a developer / sandbox account and just wanted to know if we could test the rest of it without one.
Thanks.
Clifton

Frank Haywood :
Hi Clifton,
I'm sorry about the delay in replying. The best way to test your setup is to have two PayPal accounts. They'll let you have one personal and one business account.
What I do is buy from my business account with my personal account and then refund myself afterwards. That way I get to see the whole process from beginning to end and I know that the payments are accepted correctly.
I hope this helps.
Frank.

Chris A. :
Hi,
I have 1 simple question:
What happens when 1 customer could not download the product after 3-4 times???
Can we manualy send a link and give it ??? How ???
Regards,
Chris
P.S. I ask this because it happens with me in november and took 30days to have the solution from PayPal Claim(finaly i got my program but the owner must manualy gave me a link…)
Frank Haywood :
Hi Chris,
In the new version due out next week, we've added in a lot of functionality to make sure you can sort out problems like this quickly.
For instance, every transaction generates an order whether or not a matching item can be found in the database. This allows you to amend the order and re-send the email.
You can also add both customers and orders manually if you want.
Problem solved!
Cheers,
Frank.

Frank Haywood :
Hi Chris,
You're welcome.
I'll be releasing a mini-updater at the end of January which adds in the ability to integrate your autoresponder, and it will also allow you to do one time offers.
Until then, you could just direct people to an unsecured page and make your offer there. I know that some people already do that.
Cheers,
Frank.

Debra :
I would like to know as an affiliate when do you receive your checks.
Frank Haywood :
Hi Debra,
We make affiliate payments around the 15th / 16th of the following month if you've earned them.
However, as I explained in my email to you, I'm afraid we don't pay commissions back to the people that bought our products through their own affiliate links. ie you can't buy from yourself and expect a commission payment. You've done nothing to earn it.
If you need more clarification on this, well the reason is simple and is the same reason no organisation will do so. It's not in anyone's interest for you to get it at half price.
If any business allowed that to happen, no true affiliate would ever get their payment because everyone would just buy from their own link.
In our case, sales would die and the software would disappear. That's to no-one's benefit. In addition it's open to real abuse and even fraud.
Consider this. You could buy through your own affiliate link on the 28th of the month, get paid a 50% commission payment on the 16th of the following month, and then ask for a refund or do a charge back on the 17th.
We would then be down at least $30.00 on the deal, and you would still have the product. No business would stay in business under those conditions.
Frank.

Debra :
Frank,
I totally understand what you where saying. I actually was wondering how I even got a commission under that email address as I don't even use that affiliate link when I am advertising. I do have another affiliate link which I do advertise and it's slow but I have sold a few, just waiting on payment for them.
So, its working!
Thanks for clarifying things.
